About La Loma & Co

Welcome to La Loma & Co! Your one stop shop for all things turquoise!

Meet The Owner

My name is Shaniece, and I am the owner of La Loma! I am and always have been, for as long as I can remember, an avid turquoise jewelry collector. I'm here to bring you authentic,

When I was little I would always find myself playing in my grandmas extensive jewelry collection that was mostly made of handcrafted Native American jewelry. She was an amazing woman, an avid collector of art, and had a deep appreciation for Native American culture, that she passed on to me. After she passed my family began a yearly trip to Taos, NM in her honor. These trips are where my my Love for turquoise jewelry really sprouted and grew. We would visit the Taos Pueblos and I would talk with the various artists, learning about their craft and admiring their wearable artwork. In 2021 on the long drive home from one of our Taos trips an idea took hold of me and I started La Loma & Co as soon as I got home. I wanted to share my love and appreciation of Native Made turquoise jewelry with others and decided that starting my own turquoise jewelry business was the way I was going to do it! I saw so many young women my age that wanted to start their own jewelry collections, but they didn't know where to begin. There was a need for education and authenticity in the western fashion industry when it came to turquoise accessories. I just needed the platform and space to be able to show women the amazing work that is Native Made turquoise jewelry and the value that it could give to their collections.

I am originally from Fruita, Colorado where I was raised by my aunt and uncle. After graduation I packed my bags and moved to Fort Collins to attend Colorado State University. I graduated with a degree in Animal Science and started working for a cattle genetics company. This is around the time I started La Loma. It has been the most rewarding journey starting my own business and I am grateful everyday to be doing what I love! I I am currently a one woman show but recognize that I wouldnt be where I am today without all of the support I've had from family and friends during this journey. I now live in Northern Colorado with my husband, Alex, and out two dogs, Jewlz and Lottie.
